Cyber Warfare

Long past are the days of marching onto the battlefield with your musket in a linear formation with a few hundred people beside you waiting to take your turn to shoot while the enemy waits patiently then responds with a coordinated single shot fire of their own. This is the day of modern warfare, cyber warfare. The hacktivist team named appropriately as "Anonymous" has declared war on the terrorist organization known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, after their assault on France in multiple coordinated terrorist attacks. What can a team of Internet hackers do to a group of suicide bombers and radicals? In this day in age a lot, it turns out. There are many scenarios in with this team of cyber vigilantes can disrupt, dismay and dismember this terrorist organization (or any organization for that matter). By hacking into ISIS private servers that carry sensitive information such as emails, account funds or even phone calls, Anonymous can essentially negate coordinated efforts like the attacks in France before they even start by cutting off communications between them. Furthermore, by tracking down the i.p. addresses of devices used by ISIS combined with GPS technology, Anonymous will not only be able to identify each individual scheming plots, but also deliver their exact locations to appropriate authorities. From cutting off financial funds to extracting individuals coordinates, this new age of warfare sets a precedent that no matter where you are or what your planning, if you cross lines with these cyber vigilantes, they will find you.
